I'm tried and I'm weary
This old body don't move the way it used to
The hair
on my head has all but turned to gray
My mind don't work the way it should
So if you love me
Take time
to give me my roses
While I can still see their beauty
And smell their lovely fragrance.
For
when this old body is laid to rest
The flowers sent for me, I shall not see
I shall not see their beauty
Or
smell their lovely fragrance
The tears you shed I shall not see
The final parting words of
affection
(I love you)
Will not be heard by me
So while the blood flows freely
And this
old body is still warm
Take time to say I love you
Take time to shower me with tokens of affection
For when
my body lies before you
And I have passed through those pearly gates
Time
for us will be no more
